Kinesiology for Children

Kinesiology is a gentle, holistic therapy that looks at how physical, emotional, and energetic systems are working together.

Kinesiology can help you uncover what’s going on beneath the surface and support your child’s development in a calm, playful, and effective way.

How can Kinesiology help my child?

The role of reflexes in development

Did you know that all babies are born with a set of automatic responses called primitive reflexes?

These reflexes help babies survive and begin learning to move, respond, and interact with the world.

Examples include:

  • The Palmar reflex (grasping your finger tightly)

  • The Rooting reflex (turning and sucking when the cheek is stroked)

  • The Moro reflex (startle response to sudden noise or movement)

These reflexes are meant to emerge, activate and then integrate (or calm down) as the child grows. This integration creates the foundation for coordinated movement, emotional regulation, learning, and social interaction.

But sometimes, due to factors like birth trauma, stress during pregnancy, illness, C-sections, medical interventions or skipping key developmental stages these reflexes don’t fully integrate—and this can lead to challenges in later development.

Kinesiology can help you uncover what’s going on beneath the surface and support your child’s development in a calm, playful, and effective way.

What does your child struggle with?

  • Concentration or focus

  • Speech and communication

  • Sleep problems

  • Separation or attachment issues

  • Co-ordination or clumsiness

  • Hyperactivity or emotional outbursts

  • Toileting difficulties

  • Low self-confidence or anxiety

  • Handwriting

  • Friendship worries

How Kinesiology can help

In a kinesiology session, we gently assess your child’s reflexes and overall balance—emotionally, physically, and energetically. If retained reflexes are present, we use fun, developmentally appropriate movements and simple techniques to help the body naturally integrate them.

These movements are:

  • Easy to do at home

  • Tailored to your child’s needs

  • Designed to fit into daily routines

  • Supported by follow-up guidance for parents

Sessions are active, engaging, and child-friendly. You stay with your child the entire time, and we work together to make the experience supportive and positive.

Here are some case studies that you may find insightful and helpful, providing you with a deeper understanding of how kinesiology can effectively support and improve your child's well-being:

How often will my child need sessions?

Every child is different. Some may benefit from just a few sessions spaced several weeks or months apart, while others may need longer-term support. After each session, you’ll be given simple follow-up exercises to do together at home for best results.
