Kinesiology for Children
How can Kinesiology help my child?
Kinesiology is a gentle, holistic therapy that looks at how physical, emotional, and energetic systems are working together.
Kinesiology can help you uncover what’s going on beneath the surface and support your child’s development in a calm, playful, and effective way.

The Role of Reflexes in Development
Did you know that all babies are born with a set of automatic responses called primitive reflexes?
These reflexes help babies survive and begin learning to move, respond, and interact with the world.
Examples include:
The Palmar reflex (grasping your finger tightly)
The Rooting reflex (turning and sucking when the cheek is stroked)
The Moro reflex (startle response to sudden noise or movement)
These reflexes are meant to emerge, activate and then integrate (or calm down) as the child grows. This integration creates the foundation for coordinated movement, emotional regulation, learning, and social interaction.
But sometimes, due to factors like birth trauma, stress during pregnancy, illness, C-sections, medical interventions or skipping key developmental stages these reflexes don’t fully integrate—and this can lead to challenges in later development.
What does your child struggle with?
Concentration or focus
Speech and communication
Sleep problems
Separation or attachment issues
Co-ordination or clumsiness
Hyperactivity or emotional outbursts
Toileting difficulties
Low self-confidence or anxiety
Handwriting
Friendship worries
Kinesiology can help you uncover what’s going on beneath the surface and support your child’s development in a calm, playful, and effective way.
How Kinesiology Can Help
In a kinesiology session, we gently assess your child’s reflexes and overall balance—emotionally, physically, and energetically. If retained reflexes are present, we use fun, developmentally appropriate movements and simple techniques to help the body naturally integrate them.
These movements are:
Easy to do at home
Tailored to your child’s needs
Designed to fit into daily routines
Supported by follow-up guidance for parents
Sessions are active, engaging, and child-friendly. You stay with your child the entire time, and we work together to make the experience supportive and positive.
Case Studies
Here are some case studies that you may find insightful and helpful, providing you with a deeper understanding of how kinesiology can effectively support and improve your child's well-being:
-
I brought my son to see Anna following a suggestion from a good friend that she may be able to help him improve his handwriting and weak hand muscles. What Anna did was so much more than that, and it only took three appointments! Each time we could immediately see the benefits following the session. He had several retained reflexes and Anna explained this thoroughly and in child, friendly language so that my son also understood what was going on and this naturally made him more cooperative with doing the (quite fun!) exercises that Anna asked him to do between sessions.
We have seen a huge difference in my son since that first appointment and a lot of those little ’quirks’ suddenly had explanation and he has been able to work through them to the extent that they are no longer present. His handwriting is now so much better, his hands are no longer painful when he writes, his pencil grip is now perfect , his sleep is better, his focus massively improved and his emotional responses are far more controlled.
I would hugely recommend a session with Anna - you may just discover that your child’s challenges can have a simple explanation and can be easily overcome, making their lives (and yours too) much easier and more enjoyable.

Our middle daughter had overcome hearing issues, speech delays and all sorts of other challenges but things still did not feel right. Meeting Anna was like unlocking a door to her future. Anna guided all of us through the challenges of delayed reflexes and with every visit we see more and more of her potential being unlocked - all the things that we could have easily thought were bad behavior (lack of focus, fidgeting, unable to sit still) started to improve and her learning has excelled. In our partnership with her teachers they don’t brand her as naughty but rather know she is on a journey of improvement.
The visits with Anna are enjoyable - She takes us through each challenge and milestone so we can understand what is happening, how we can help at home and are able to share this with our daughter’s teachers so they can support too. The exercises to do at home are a lot of fun and my other girls join in.
I highly recommend to other families to explore with Anna. Watching our daughter develop, with Anna’s support, is an absolute joy.

Before my daughter started Kinesiology she was struggling with her reading and writing. Her confidence in class was very low and concentration was poor. She was constantly coming out of class saying she was stupid which was devastating to hear.
After each Kinesiology session we were given exercises to do for a specific period of time, such as 3 weeks. My daughter enjoyed doing these exercises, they were easy to do and didn't take long to complete. They fitted easily into our day.
Subsequent sessions were every 2-4 months depending on my daughter’s needs.
She has made amazing progress. Her reading has really come on and is also writing well using cursive writing. Concentration has greatly improved and most of all her confidence in class and in general has grown significantly. We don't hear "I'm stupid" anymore we are now hearing " I feel like I'm becoming a genius!
We are delighted with her progress and are very thankful to have had been introduced to kinesiology and its methods.
It's so lovely to have a confident, happy child who loves school and feels like she fits into the class like all the other children.
How Often Will My Child Need Sessions?
Every child is different. Some may benefit from just a few sessions spaced several weeks or months apart, while others may need longer-term support. After each session, you’ll be given simple follow-up exercises to do together at home for best results.

Developed in the 1960s by Dr. George Goodheart, kinesiology is a holistic approach that combines principles from chiropractic care, nutrition, and various other healing modalities.
